Important Announcement: Temporary Suspension of the Mohawk Language Initiative

Dear Members and Supporters of the Mohawk Language Initiative,

We regret to inform you that our website is currently experiencing a security breach, and our server is under attack. In order to protect the integrity of our users' data and the future of our initiative, we have made the difficult decision to suspend our services temporarily.

Our dedicated team is actively working on resolving this issue and ensuring that our website is safe and secure. We are pleased to announce that Mohawk University has taken the lead on this initiative and has secured a new server dedicated to our cause.

Along with this, a comprehensive plan of action is in place to fortify the website and safeguard our knowledge base. The cleanup process is a complex task, as over 4000 posts and over 100 thematic categories need to be carefully reviewed and cleaned to remove any potential threats.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our ongoing patrons on Patreon and those who have generously donated to help free up some of our hours to investigate and work towards securing the website. Your support has been instrumental in this effort.

However, we must stress the significance of collective support. Preserving the Mohawk language and culture is not an endeavor that can be carried by a single individual or institution alone. It is a shared responsibility, a testament to the strength of our community in the face of historical injustices, and a commitment to the broader goals of cultural preservation and linguistic diversity.

The importance of preserving the Mohawk language extends far beyond the boundaries of our immediate community. It is a cultural treasure that enriches the world's tapestry of languages and perspectives. It is a bridge between generations, connecting our youth with the wisdom and heritage of our ancestors.

This is precisely why we have actively sought the involvement of Mohawk University in our initiative. Their commitment to our cause goes hand in hand with their dedication to education, cultural preservation, and linguistic diversity. Mohawk University's engagement signifies the importance of our mission not only to our community but also to the wider academic and cultural world.

While we greatly appreciate financial assistance from individuals, we also call upon institutions to join us in this mission. The preservation of a language is a collective effort that transcends the interests of any single entity. It's about safeguarding a unique way of life, culture, and a distinct perspective on the world.

By contributing to our cause, institutions and individuals alike become part of a larger movement that recognizes the value of linguistic diversity and the preservation of indigenous languages. Together, we can amplify our impact and ensure the sustainability of our language initiatives for generations to come.

We understand that the temporary suspension of our services may be inconvenient, but the security of our users and the preservation of the Mohawk language are our top priorities. We appreciate your patience and support as we work diligently to resolve this issue and get our initiative back up and running.

We believe that preserving the Mohawk language is not only about communication but also about saving a way of life, culture, and a unique perspective on the world. Together, with your collective support and the involvement of Mohawk University, we can overcome this challenge and continue our important work.

If you would like to help or stay updated on our progress, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can also consider becoming a patron or encouraging your institution to support our mission. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,

Your Mohawk Language Initiative Team
